Research

Our laboratory is dedicated to exploring the mechanism of cardiac functions under different toxicological stress. The heart has a limited capacity to regenerate, and an insult to the cardiac cell may lead to fatal cardiac failure. Oxidative damage, toxicological exposure, and defective ion transport are also resulting in cardiac dysfunction. Biochemical, molecular, cellular, and physiological methods are used to integrate to understand cardiovascular function. We also focus on physiological and pathophysiological alterations concerning food additives and pharmacological compounds.
