Immunobiology:

Research in the lab focusses on the behaviour of immune cells like neutrophils and monocytes during metabolic diseases like Diabetes and Atherosclerosis. In addition to that, contribution of NEtosis/Etosis, a recently discovered mode of defense mechanism in both neutrophils and monocytes, on the pathogenesis of Atherosclerosis via histone citrullination is also envisaged. Hormonal influence of PAD-4 gene activity which is necessary for NETosis on disease progression is another area of interest.
